Nissan-Micra
Nissan India, which recently started showcasing its ‘Micra’ city car across all its dealerships in the country, will begin its delivery on 15th July’10 according to dealer sources. Gauging the unprecedented response received through a number of enquiries since the unveiling of the car, the company has also decided to start the pre-order bookings for the Micra at all these showrooms at Rs. 50,000.
It is to be mentioned that Nissan India’s first indigenously-built car will be powered by a 1.2liter DOHC 12 Valve 3-cylinder petrol engine which generates a maximum power output of 76PS @ 6,000rpm and delivers a torque of 104kg per 4000rpm. With a Bore & Stroke of 78 x 83.6, the car’s engine delivers a mileage of 18.6 km/litre (as per ARAI) and is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. Micra will be sold in four variants: XE (basic), XE Plus, XL (middle), and XV (high-end) and would be available in six different colours: Sunlight Orange, Blade Silver, Storm White, Pacific Blue, Onyx Black and Brick Red.
The 5-door hatchback car is estimated to be priced in the range of Rs. 3.95-5.25 lakh (ex-showroom).
With a minimum turning radius of 4.65 metre and a wheelbase of the model is 2,450mm, the premium compact car has MacPherson strut at the front and torsion beam suspension at the rear. The tyres (165/70R14) will sport 14 x 5.5J steel wheels and will be equipped with ventilated disc brakes at the front tyres and drum brakes at the rear ones.The overall length, width and height of the car are 3,780mm, 1,665mm and 1,530mm respectively.
When wheelsunplugged.com contacted the official spokesperson of the company, he said, “We have still not announced the date of the launch of Micra. An announcement would be made at an appropriate time. We can only confirm that the start of sales of the New Nissan Micra will begin in July 2010. All details, including prices and features, would be shared at the launch event.”
The base version of Micra –XE- would be equipped with features like roof antenna, Drive Computer, manual AC, black interior colour scheme, electric power assisted rack & pinion steering with tilt adjustment, engine immobilizer, and driver side airbag.
As far as Nissan Micra XE + is concerned, its features: (Addition to XE variant) comprises
OE Audio system with 4 speakers, seat cover – fabric (Black & Silver color combination), steering wheel cover (Pure Leather – Black & Silver color combination), full wheel covers.
Nissan Micra XL features constitute (Addition to XE Variant) full wheel covers, rear wiper and washer, tachometer; parcel Shelf, integrated audio system with 4 speakers aux-in port, power windows: front and rear with drive anti-pinch function, central door lock, remote keyless entry.
The top-end variant, Nissan Micra XV, boasts of features (Addition to XL Variant) such as electric Park and fold mirror, door mirror electric adjustment, auto AC, Greige interior colour scheme, Intelligent Key with Push Button Ignition (Remote Keyless Entry – N/A), front passenger side airbag, ABS + EBD + BA, front fog lamps, security alarm.

I booked Micra XV-Blue on 5 June 2010 at Shahwar Motors ,Bangalore. When I enquired about the delivery today,the response was may be in August. At the time of booking, they promised delivery on 20 July.
