Maserati All Set To Bring Back Its Cars On To Indian Roads

Popular Italian sports and GT car maker Maserati is all set to run its cars on the Indian roads.

The first dealership of the Italian company is expected to be setup in Mumbai in the coming months which is said to be owned and run by the Galaxy group from Ahmedabad.

The first cars which are likely to run on the Indian roads are Granturisma GT and the Quattroporte four-door.

However, it is worth noting that this is not the first time Maserati is entering India. It was earlier distributed alongside Ferrari. Yet, this is the first time the car maker is following its own steam and coming in to the country.

Coming to the specifications of the first cars, the Granturismo GT is known for its balance of stunning looks and performance while the updated Quattroporte is expected to garner a lot of attention.

The updated V8 engine now gets twin turbos and 530bhp and is the one shared with the new Ferrari 488, albeit with changes. Other Quattroporte models include a 404bhp twin turbo V6 and a smooth 271bhp V6 diesel, designed and built by diesel engine specialists VM Motori.

It surely looks like an exciting time ahead with many luxury cars being launched in India including Mercedes CLS, Ghibli four-door and Maserati's first SUV, the yet-to-be-launched Levante, expected to hit our shores mid 2016.
