Maruti Launches Celerio Diesel Variant

After the huge success of Maruti's Celerio lately, the popular car maker has finally launched a diesel variant of the hatchback.

Priced betweeb Rs 4.65 lakh and Rs 5.71 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the diesel variant is powered by parent Suzuki's first diesel engine.

Being powered by a 793cc engine, the Celerio diesel is said to offer 27.62 kmpl which is considered as pretty economical and the model also marks the global launch of the DDiS 125, first diesel engine designed and developed by Suzuki Motor Corporation.

To add in more details, the Celerio hatchback is deisgned to offer a smooth drive in both cities and highways.

However, it is worth noting that the company and its suppliers have together invested over Rs 900 crore towards the development of DDiS 125 engine and is localised up to 97 per cent.

Launched in February 2014, the company sells a petrol and a CNG variant of the same car along with manual transmission variant and auto gear shift variant.

Celerio Auto Gear Shift variants have the flexibility of both manual mode and auto drive mode in the same car, with a simple shift of gear lever.
