Guiness Books World Record holder for being the world's fastest car - SSC Ultimate Aero TT which has recorded a top speed of 413 kms per hour is slated to be launched in India.
Billed to cost more than Rs 6 crore on Indian roads, it would be imported as a CBU from its only manufacturing facility, Shelby Super Cars (where SSC stands for Shelby Super Cars and TT stands for Twin Turbo); said by experts to be faster than Bugatti Veyron. It will be powered with a fuel-injected 6.35-litre twin-turbo charged V8 engine delivering 1,183 bhp of power.
The Economic Times reports that would be launched initially in Mumbai, followed by other cities including Delhi. At present it is sold in the company’s domestic market and Russia.
The Aero and the Shelby SuperCars company are the brainchildren of Jerod Shelby, who spent over seven years designing the car. Although the basic Aero model is no longer produced, the Ultimate Aero is still in production with an MSRP of around U$654,400
According to an auto enthusiast, “It remains to be seen if this car would lure the super rich class here in India. We do not have the roads for cars that can drive half as fast… Where would the owners drive this car in India! Especially, when most areas have a speed limit ranging from 50kmph to 80kmph.”

I would not wonder where the car could be driven. Most fancy cars are anyway bought for the wrong reasons. Bulk of those who pay premium for driving comfort are driven around arnt they ?
