Now news is out that Tata Motors is also gearing to launch its diesel version of Nano by September'09.
An industry source on condition of anonymity has said that the displacement of the diesel engine would be slightly higher than petrol. While the petrol engine has a 623 cubic capacity, the diesel engine could be around 690cc, as claimed by him.
The Tata Nano is a proposed city car — a small, affordable, rear-engined, four-passenger car aimed primarily at the Indian market —unveiled by the company at the 9th annual Auto Expo on January 10, 2008 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, India.

Small should not mean less fun to drive Look at FIAT 1248 MJD looks small But the Fun that Linea and manza offer. Tata has small diesel engine in ACE Goods carrier, do you find ACE less powerful?
