Having borrowed styling cues extensively from the existing Camry, the new Corolla Altis therefore looks a smaller version of Camry 2006. It has an aerodynamic exterior and a wider stance with sophisticated, smooth-flowing lines. A curved flowing centre console design with wide, spacious interiors and extra legroom and headroom makes it a perfect luxury.
Altis comes with the VVT-i engine, intelligent transmission (Super ECT), and new Electric Power Steering. The sequential shift helps it deliver a sporty drive. The car is priced between Rs 10.83 lakh and Rs 12.86 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and would be offered in a 1.8 petrol litre engine in three different grades. TKM is eyeing to sell around 2,000 units of Corolla Altis a month. The tenth-generation Corolla already has made its debut in many overseas markets and is now set to spearhead Toyota Kirloskar to its second coming. The new Corolla Altis appears to be a dramatic departure from the earlier Corollas which were staid and dull in design but greatly dependable vehicles.
